Gifted
Well, I have new neighbours on both sides of my home. They all seem very nice. One lady was upset with finding a man on her balcony (no doubt), but he just took her recyclables. The fellow on the other side went to school with one of my sons. He and his wife have two babies. He had some sort of seizure last week around midnight. All the emergency services were out front with their lights flashing. He ended up in hospital, but is out now. Never a dull moment here.

My oldest grandson stayed with me for a couple of weeks in February. Out of control teen-aged angst. Apparently, he told his Mom that I was abusive because I told him to grow up and get over himself. Felt like I was channeling my Mom and Grandmother. He does have a lot of challenges, but he needs to learn to channel his anger more appropriately or self-sabotage will set in. He is in control of his destiny, so far, but his anger will be his undoing. Sigh. I had a lovely day with his sister one day when she needed help with a school project. She was really discouraged, because one of her teachers dismissed her family background. Of course the genealogist in grandmother came out to help rebuild her self-respect. She was especially intrigued by her British roots - for now. She just got accepted in the city's Secondary School Art School so that built her up too.

A number of the grand-babies went through birthdays in the past three months or so, so I spent a lot of time on finding just the right gifts for them and then making certain they got them within a reasonable amount of time. One is having a fair amount of health issues, but the medical system isn't finding the source. From the symptoms, I would guess the damage was caused by birth trauma, but I'm just a grandmother - what would I know. Seems to be genetic, but that isn't something that the medical system seems geared to consider. Drug pushers for the pharmaceutical industry, that's all. Sigh.

A+ and I began walking again. I've got the blisters to prove it. Weather has been very mild here out west in North America. I was discharged by the specialist last month and am now down to just two meds instead of ten. Yay! I am still working inside and outside my home trying to get the damage fixed. Gardening and carpentry are not areas where I have had much training, so Youtube and other internet resources are my tutors. I guess that is better than trial and error, but there were questions I didn't even know to ask. One of A+'s buddies passed on a table from one of his in-laws, that allowed me a huge short-cut in the kitchen. I might even begin batch baking again. Ingredients are quite expensive though.

A+ was quite busy with his buddy, getting their art/writing project moving forward. Crowd funding and promotion are significantly different from the old style of marketing, but one learns as time goes on. I helped them by doing some text editing. Some basic skills are still necessary, I guess. Gallery exhibit starts on Thursday. Another step forward.

I should go and edit the photos I took yesterday - new skills again. Keeps the brain fresh and exercised I suppose.
