21:39 - 02.07.05 Number three son dropped by today for a visit. His car is fixed, but he is basically broke until his next paycheque. Fortunately I think one of his two jobs pays him weekly,so he won't have too long a wait and our July tax rebate is due on Tuesday as well. He qualifies for that, so he should be ok soon. He cleaned out our supply of DVDs and videos in the meantime. He and his girlfriend are both struggling financially, so it gives them something to occupy their time together when they aren't working. We had a good visit, then he promised to return tomorrow with their lawn mower so we can finally get our yard up to snuff. Watched the Live 8 concerts off and on all day. Some people really do get better with age don't they? Bruce Cockburn, Barenaked Ladies, Sarah McLaughlan/Josh Groben and Will Smith's sets were really well done. Missed Bryan Adams, Sam Richards and Gordon Lightfoot, plus a lot of the international stars, but I'm hoping there will be a "best of" DVD for sale where proceeds can also be directed toward the cause. I found I was a bit weepy at times when I watched, the one infomercial using the snapping of fingers to demonstrate how often a child dies especially. Either my hormones are doing something really weird or I'm still not quite up to speed after the May bout of pneumonia. It would have been really embarrassing if there had been anyone other than the cats and my youngest around to see. I haven't had weeps like that since the old pregnancy days. At least I don't have that to worry about. Small blessings. Any way I think I want to go watch what is left of the rest of the "special moments" synopsis. Besides that the cats are being really cuddly and won't stay off the keyboard, don't know what's up with that but I guess I should savour any affection offered rather than chasing electrons around a screen. Right? Good night dear diary. |
