What's Shakin'
Two ways to expand the mind showed up in my email in the past few days dear diary. This one came from NASA, offering an opportunity to attend a Nobel laureates get together for a physics-meeting. In April, people from all walks of life are invited to join top scientists at a unique conference to discuss dark energy, antimatter, black holes and the mysteries of modern physics.Conference. The second opportunity is one I can even manage (no need for the time or money to gain access). An interactive site for joining a study group or two from concepts raised in the "What the Bleep Do We Know " movie which is coming out in DVD this month. Spring and a New Moon in Pisces tomorrow mean a good time to build one's mind, I think. That mutual reception between the ruling planets of Pisces (Neptune) and Aquarius (Uranus) promise breakthroughs in creative thought or some incredibly vivid dreams. Take your pick.

Work continued to be positive today. I found more issues and asked more questions. About an hour before lunch my supervisor asked me if I had any plans for lunch. Yes, chiropractor appointment, but I can reschedule that if you need me. The reason was that our specialist from Texas returns home on Friday, but given what I've found so far it was decided that we needed to talk. Most other assignments I'd be told to shut up. So noon came and I had the floor for most of the time. I did apologize for talking so much, but was told that they wanted to hear what I had to say and encouraged further reports as the need arose. I asked for more resources - people wise for their knowledge of specialized fields - and also for more data. No problem. Mutual reception - must be that time for it I guess.

Arrived home to find my youngest playing some sort of video game with one of his buddies. No problem there and good for my guy to have some social time. the irritation was that the work he said he'd complete - from three days ago - still wasn't finished. Called a realtor who had signs up on a building I'd really like to have for an election office. He got quite animated and asked for more details to be faxed to him. Even if not that building the company in question had several more in their listings. Hope something comes of it. I had faxed the head of security in Elections Canada with the additional information he requested as well. 20 pages of documentation done by the newspaper in a two day investigative report. There was a call from Ottawa on the phone but no message. We'll see. Called my assisatant for the election just to touch base. We'll get together this weekend and then I also need to schedule a meeting with my tech to get his read on things. In the paper today a note that that non-confidence vote almost happened yesterday and that one more critical vote is due up by the end of the week. Oi.

Number three son and his girlfriend arrived for a visit tonight and that was a pleasant break in the routine. As we were talking, there was email arriving from his buddy in Vancouver - the site of the thousands of earthquakes as that new volcano builds not far offshore from there Vulcan_Rising. At the same time that was happening there were rattlers in Quebec as well. "Shakin' all Over" Must be that reunion tour of the leads from the Guess Who that causing it. Go Burton and Randy! I was all shook up when I realized I'd missed the Steve Earld concert after all. Happened because of all the drama at the last job - I just wasn't thinking of anything else but surviving the experience. Hope he comes back this summer. Folk Festival would be good. Music wise it has been strange. In the morning I'm getting the university station and it is an eclectic mix. I'm beginning to enjoy the jazz segment on Mondays - this week Eric Bibb - MMMMMM good. I realized that the station ties in to the BBC for their news segment and that is why I thought someone was playing with my head a bit. News that is occurring 7.5 hours before our time zone. Cool. My discman has just about had the biscuit for work but I can still tune in to the radio stations. I've been listening to the Vibe 98.6 lately. Hip hop, rap and all, y'all. I like Eminem's rendition of Mockiungbird and the new song by Nelly made me want to cry. I decided to listen for the beat - the energy that the music offers so that I can focu at work - but I'm coming to really enjoy a lot of the lyrics in some of the songs. The rest? Well I thought Cruising by Smokey Robinson was steamy, but well thi has that beat and then some. I've only used some of those terms out loud while working in a hospital setting -very detailed and almost clinical but set to music?
