About the last entry dear diary - it was just so unexpected that I couldn't resist. Although, if any members of the Federal Canadian Alliance party see it there is likely to be a heated rebuttal not about the facts presented but about whether it makes us a stable society or not. Let's see in physics homeostasis means that there is constant change or adjustment within the culture of the solution to maintain the overall balance of the unit. Paradox and paradigm shift.

The kittens and Miss Kitty were very strange today. All they wanted to do was cuddle - all six at once. Imagine six felines rolled on their backs, paws in the air, begging for their tummies to be rubbed or crawling onto to one's lap en masse mewing to be the first to snuggle. Maybe they saw things on All Soul's Night that we didn't. Could be those solar flares I guess - another one shot off today and is due to hit the atmosphere sometime tomorrow. All that electricity/magnetism massaging our Van Allen's Belt. Hmmmmmm.

I got a call from the head of Calgary Emergency Services yesterday. I had sent an account to my alderman of what had happened with my breathing problems when the high school a block from my home had to be evacuated because of a toxic substance released into their ventilation system last Tuesday. I just wanted it to be a matter of record in case it provided clues to what might have happened and also so that future responses could be fine-tuned to account for people with respiratory problems like mine. My alderman, who I like a great deal, must have forwarded it on with a request to follow through. The doctor was very pleasant and we spoke for about half an hour. He said he would call me back next week with a follow up after he had talked with some of the other emergency response team. I was impressed.

Lots of dreams yesterday and today. Yesterday it started out like panels in a comic strip. It seemed to be the adventures of a group of college/university students who were living away from home for the first time. Mixed genders,it touched on their classes, doing their laundry at a laundromat and going out to eat in cheap diners before exploring their new city for fun. Seemed to be a lot of bus rides connecting the different panels/adventures. Just fun until a panel where they went to a good little Chinese take-out place. They continued on their way but the dream remained at the restaurant and the focus shifted to two men.

One was the restaurant owner, of Chinese descent, but maybe third or fourth generation Canadian. The other man was the owner of a home diagonally across the street from the restaurant. They seemed to be always in conflict because of traffic and maintenance issues - different values. They argued about everything. The day in question - when the college students dropped in - they finally had to band together against their city officials. The city had placed a median on one street, so it blocked traffic and put both properties at risk for dangerous drivers. There were several accidents in a short period of time. The two worked together to solve the problem and got to know more about the others' families. Then it got kind of weird. The man of Chinese descent realized that his neighbour was helping his daughters prepare for their deaths. They were washing their clothes and making certain that they would be suitable to pass on to someone else after they died. There was no indication of what would cause three or four young women to calmly accept their fate and prepare for it. Their father was helping by sorting and folding the clothes after the girls had done whatever work they felt necessary. The restaurant owner felt sorry for the Dad and began to help him with the task - he could see the father was really struggling with letting his daughters go. The idea upset me so much I woke up.

The dreams this morning lasted a long time. I recall high beamed ceilings of sturdy oak in a tudor style house, maybe and a family. They seemed to be related to me. I can't remember anything else though, except that there was a busyness and sense of hurry, but organized and planned. The colours in their garden were extraordinary and there was the sound of bells - tinkling and chiming, intertwining with an organ/piano and a flute maybe or an oboe. The rest won't come so I'll have to leave it there. Hmmmmmmm.
